November 1999

Dear Internet Friends,

Welcome to Robeson Evangelical Lutheran Church, Plowville, Pa. affectionally known as "Plow" Church. Since 1770 we have been the light on the hill, a light which has become even brighter over the years.  Located on the corner of Rt. 10 and Plow Road, 5 miles south of Flying Hills and 6 miles north of Morgantown, our community of faith has been proclaiming Jesus Christ, the Light of the world for over 225 years.  As one of the heirs of the Reformation Church our message is Christ alone, The Bible Alone, God's Grace Alone (His unconditional love), and Faith Alone, (trusting God's promises of His forgiveness in Christ) revealed in the Bible, and experienced in Faith, that nothing can separate us from the love of God.

At the heart of our witness and ministry are liturgical services centered in proclaiming the Gospel (Good News) and sharing the sacraments of our Lord Jesus Christ, rooted in the historical faith of the early New Testament Church.  Energized by the Holy Spirit our community of faith has created and provided a wide variety of services in meeting the needs of all ages.  Within our congregation we have a full range of worship services, including monthly healing services, a large Church School, Thursday Night Youth, RYO (7 - 12th grade), an awesome singing group called Disciples of Today, and much more.  In service to our community we have a Mothers Support Group, a pre-school, a summer playground program, weekly A.A. and Al-Anon meetings, one of the largest scouting units in our county; and, with the Athletic Association involving baseball and recently soccer.  It is estimated that we are serving between 400 and 500 children in our community in various activities.  Sharing with other Christian communities in our area, we support Steeple to People, a volunteer social service agency and also neighbors in need regardless of race, creed, or color.

As Jesus said, "I am the Light of the world.  He also invites us to be the light of the world."  Come shine with us.

Sincerely,

Rev. Carl R. Adams, STM, MAPC
